We've got a quick and easy free tutorial for you here! Cyndi from The Nosy Pepper has stitched up all of these beauties, and Janelle from Emmaline Bags has put together the downloadable tutorial!
Do you know those fabrics that you loved so much that you carefully saved the scraps because you just know you’d use them one day? All those little bits of ribbons, bias tape, and embellishments? I have the perfect project to use up all those extra bits and that can be done in less than 10 minutes: key fobs!
They are the perfect scrap buster, and oh so blissfully quick to sew up. They are also perfect little trinkets for almost anyone. You could sew up a bundle in an afternoon to have on hand for those last minute gifts.
They are the perfect scrap buster, and oh so blissfully quick to sew up. They are also perfect little trinkets for almost anyone. You could sew up a bundle in an afternoon to have on hand for those last minute gifts.
All you need is:
- your fabric scraps
- a little imagination
- key fob hardware (available here)
- and a pair of pliers.
You can make them as simple, or as fancy as you’d like. Add some bias tape, or some ribbon for a pop of contrast:
Or even just let the top stitching be the feature by adding a contrasting thread or metallic thread:
They are also a great way to increase your comfort in sewing with vinyl or leather as you can play around with different stitches, threads and just practice to see how much you can do beyond quilting cottons. Add a ribbon, some lace or just keep it simple and let the vinyl be the star.
Head over to our website, and get yourself some key fob hardware.
Have fun sewing and let all of your favourite scraps get a new life!
