Pattern Giveaway at Sew Country Chick! (Contest Closed)
3/17/2012 03:47:00 AM
The Invitation: I felt very honored when Justine from Sew Country Chick asked me to do a pattern giveaway. There was no hesitation, because I would do anything to be associated with the likes of Justine's blog! I would even iron all day for the opportunity. NO, I would do Justine's ironing for a year. No wait, maybe just one month. Did I mention that I hate ironing? (Quite a fallback for a sewer, trust me.)
I digress.... Justine, fabulous woman, is giving away one of my handbag patterns. Whichever you desire!
About Justine: The woman behind Sew Country Chick is a designer, seamstress, mother of five, and fabulous blogger, that lives just outside of Los Angeles, California. Here are some of Justine's latest sewing projects, but trust me there seems to be no end to her projects on the blog. She also has categories such as recipes, home sewing, furniture refashions, sewing history, crafty projects, raising chickens... and more.
The Giveaway: Please hop over to her blog and see her brilliant work, and while there you could enter the giveaway, and link up your sewing projects at her link party: Sew & Tell Saturday. There are some adorable features about "Little Girls" this week. Go see!
Thank you for looking,

DeleteI love the Emmaline Bag. I've only been sewing about six months, and take private lessons. Do you think that this will be a tough pattern for me. I love your site!
ReplyDeleteHI Tricia. It might be a bit tricky for you, but as long as you have someone (like an instructor) you can ask questions, you won’t have trouble. The biggest thing will be to add the interfacing so that you don’t have a very think and floppy bag. You might need help picking some out. I would use a mid-heavy weight pellon sew-in or a midweight fusible batting on the exterior. If the shop you are purchasing fabric at is very helpful, they can help you pick some out. Cutting straps can be a bit of a bother if you don’t have a rotary cutting mat. You can still do it the old fashioned way with a ruler though. Do you have rotary mat and cutter you can use? Janelle
